August 2026 - Cheers

The plane lands, the familiar route sweeping me quickly toward the exit. Outside the airport, the scenery is known but the temperature is different. The body registers and adapts, the mind follows. A little tired, a little blissful, a little disoriented yet very full of images and memories. In my thoughts, I move between the things to do, and the things done. Happy to have closed the circle, ready to resume my domestic routines.

Summer is beginning to end. The city still quiet. The trees worn out by the heat. The urban noises muffled.

The vacation doesn't end abruptly, or at least I do what I can so that the return is softened by careful planning. I leave myself air cushions before immersing back into scheduled life. I process memories and clarify intentions.

I like this moment of suspension. No longer a tourist and not yet back in my ordinary costumes, suspended, for just a little longer, between two worlds and two different ways of existing.

Vacation restores us not only because we can indulge, but because it grants freer space to our identity, it offers new venues to explore. It shows sliding doors we never opened. Possibilities we decided to ignore.

This is the real beginning of the year, for me: the end of summer vacation.

Happy new year.

Love this moment of suspension.

Summer about to end.

Processing memories and clarifying intentions.

Switching characters.

Getting ready.

The city still quiet.

Trees tired from the heat.

Light getting softer.

September is the true beginning of the new year.

Cheers.
